  1. Oh Iโ€™m so geeked about this! Thanks for sending this out far enough in advance that we can put some thought into our project!!

    1. Hey there! Yes, I thought it would be nice to have the luxury of time before the workshop weeks to really think about what you’d like to create ๐Ÿ™‚ I’m hoping this will be a full-on geek fest too LOL xox

  2. Thanks for setting up the group and connecting us all.
The 4 themes you listed are great and good to get the thought process going.

I picked up the book you referenced yesterday n one of you videos and it has so much information.
    Looking forward to more.

    1. Hi Gregory ๐Ÿ™‚
Yes it’s helpful to have some planning/thinking time before we get all up in those Wunda Chair exercises. With ideas in mind, it will be easier to spot those perfect exercises that suit our purpose.
So glad you got the Wunda Chair book – the Christina Maria Gadar one – it is so good – all her books are very orderly and detailed – and her order section is extensive and nerdy! Feel free to “think out loud” here in the comments as you determine your project. See you soon…

  3. TWISTS and LOWER BODY REACH!! My Pilates project is going to be opening up my right side while keeping my lazy left side activated and anchored all why reaching through the lower body at.all.times. The Wunda chair is going to be a perfect tool for this! The Wunda is very challenging for me (most likely why I avoid it) but these sessions will be a great motivator for me! Can’t wait! ;-0

    1. Corrie ๐Ÿ™‚

I love what you are wanting to create for yourself! Twist and Lower Body Reach are fantastic to explore on the Wunda – you are so right. And yes, all of our projects may fall into the “challenging” category as we are using it in a “This is for YOU” kind of way. Thanks for sharing your project with me – as we dive into the Wunda Chair repertoire we can be on the lookout for twist help and LBR help – if you’ve checked out my Building Symmetry workouts on YT – the LBR on each side was the motivation/inspiration for this group of Wunda exercises. Yay! Looking forward to the journey… xox

  4. Thanks for this! I’m inspired to use this workshop to address the great imbalance between right and left sides–strengthen left leg/glutes. I think this will go a long way toward overcoming my general balance issues when it comes to going up front, etc.

    1. Oh Janice – are we twisted sisters? I love this project – and the goal of Going Up Front is no joke, right? I’m also so glad I’ll get to see you after all these years. See you soon xox

  5. Thank you for this, Andrea. I’m so excited to get started and to meet everyone! I’ve been attempting to narrow it down ever since you first sent this out. I definitely have issues –there are so many things to work on in this body! ๐Ÿ˜‰ It would be good to cultivate even spinal extension (or extension at all!) and work toward left/right symmetry. Looking forward to it! <3

    1. Hi Melissa! I’m excited too. Yes sometimes it can be hard to decide which issue to focus on, totally agree with you on that one. I always take comfort in that all the exercises ultimately address lots of stuff, and the chair is a really great place for addressing left/right symmetry of course. I’m looking at exercises for better extension and progressing to the backbend and high bridge too – I spy another Pilates Project for myself on the horizon LOL ๐Ÿ™‚ Feel free to brainstorm here in our conversation if you find that to be helpful – it’s nice to think “out loud” sometimes. Yay! See you soon. xo

  6. Hi everyone, nice to see I’m not the only one with left/right imbalances. While cycling I decided my project is going to be finding out why (and hopefully fixing) the little toes on my left foot go numb while cycling. It will probably have something to do with the same habit that makes my bicycle saddle twist to the left.

    1. Hi Cindy! Oh yes we are in good company for left/right imbalance – yay ๐Ÿ™‚ This is an excellent example of “Hmmm…is this a coincidence? I think not.” And perfect for a Pilates project on the Chair. Thanks for sharing your ideas and observations here and see you very soon. xox

  7. Hi Andrea, I thought I remembered you recommended a book about the Pilates chair… But I can’t find it anymore. Am I making up things ????

      1. Yes!! Highly recommend this book – thank you so much for adding it here Christina. We may not visit all the exercises in this book, but it will be a great resource for our Pilates Projects ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. Hi there – you are not making things up – thanks Erin for fielding this question – Is my brain still in April?? Looking forward to seeing you tomorrow. xox

  8. Hi! Last week I moved from New York to Iowa. Today I got internet!! Just in time for tomorrow. ???? I’m in the midst of unpacking a 5 bedroom house so everything hurts (and I should make time to get back to Pilates!). My Pilates Project will be finding strength for Overhead on the Reformer, utilizing the wonderful Wunda Chair repertoire. ????

    1. Yay! So glad to know you have arrived safely and with wifi! I love your project and yes so many goodies for it on the Wunda ๐Ÿ™‚ See you tomorrow, xox

  9. My list of project titles is so long: Her Right Side has Issues, Menopause Shoulders and More, Forward Neck and Traps, or My Left Hip. My attempt at humor aside, my micro goal for this round would be to work on strengthening my left hip. Years ago I discovered I’d nearly severed my left TFL (found during treatment for hip bursitis) and I’ve not been able to strengthen it enough to find the Star on the reformer on the left side (as I can on the right). The Star is ambitious and not necessarily the goal but as the imbalance between the two sides is so noticeable, I’d like to see if I could find a path to improvement in all the exercises that lead me there. My macro goal – refining my work on the chair, learning new approaches and insights to the exercises, and being with likeminded Pilates enthusiasts chewing on some good work! Thank you for the opportunity!

    1. Hi Hilary, I love all your project titles LOL you’ve come to the right place to find humour as we examine our opportunities for improvement together! Welcome ๐Ÿ™‚ I like the way you are thinking with regard to balancing the sides of your body and having the Star a kind of poster child for balance side to side. You have articulated it so well. I feel this way too. Do I need to be an expert performer of the Star? Maybe not, but this exercise gives us a clear picture of where there’s work to be done. See you soon!

  10. Good morning
I realized this morning that I never posted my comments….
I have a very simple project focused on Flexibility, Imbalance (yes me too) and grace…. I sometimes feel like that elephant you see performing at the circus onto of the little platform. ๐Ÿ™‚ graceful I am not…..

The book is great Cindy — lots of information.

    1. Hi Gregory – Thanks for chatting here too ๐Ÿ™‚ I think your description of an elephant on the little platform of the Wunda Chair is a great image that many of us can relate to as we dance around the Chair doing our exercises. Glad to know you are part of Our Imbalance Club – and hey flexibility fits right in there so well. Looking forward to seeing you soon. xo

  11. Hi All!
I’m going to join the right/left imbalance club too… I have a lazy left side and my right side loves to overwork! I would love to find the support to strengthen my left side, especially for the (demoralizing) kneeling side series on the mat.
I will also be on the lookout for exercises to even out twisty imbalances. One of my clients had a hip replacement a few years ago, and although her hip feels better, her torso is noticeably twisted (more so than prior to her hip replacement) and I’m struggling to find the right exercises and words to untwist her AND have the untwist clear enough in her body that she can find it on her own. See you all soon!!

    1. Hi there – yes welcome to the right/left imbalance club LOL I find there are so many exercises on the Wunda that are great for this purpose as you can do nearly all of them one side at a time. And I like where you are going with your hunt to help twisty imbalances. Lately I have found – although this may not apply to your particular client – that for those of us who are twisted, our tall and symmetrical exercises are already untwisting us to a degree (like going the way the body doesn’t want to twist). Does this make sense? Just something that makes me go hmmm… that I thought I’d share. Thanks for joining the conversation here and see you again soon xox

      1. That’s such a good thought! While I was at work today I realized that I have two clients that have the same twisty imbalance. One client with a hip replacement, and another with arthritis in one hand, but it ripples through their body the same way – to the opposite proximal joint, with a spine twist. I’m super excited to take these thoughts in to work with me on Monday!!
